About the film
Cantharsis, also known as Knight Redux or Another Knight, is the thirty-second short production from Wingless Films, and is a spiritual successor to and remake of the 2011 short, Knight. Both were shot, directed and edited by Jim Elton. As with the previous film, Cantharsis follows a night drive through the city of Plymouth, showing images of passing traffic and street lights. The film features Tom Menary as the driver, who also provides the narration of a tone poem, also called "Cantharsis".
Footage for the film was shot on 16th October, 2012, with a promotional image released on that day, featuring Tom standing before a cityscape. The film was edited on 28th October, with the final cut assembled and scored two days after, and was released on that day alongside the original soundtrack. Incidentally, a test shoot for Knight was conducted exactly one year prior to the release of Cantharsis.
