About the film
Hypersleep is a short sci-fi/dark comedy written and directed by Craig Whyte, starring Tom Menary with cinematography by Jim Elton. The film tells the story of Charles, crewman aboard a botanical vessel on a journey through space, who passes the time in a holographic virtual reality chamber, where he meets and falls in love with an artificial intelligence in the form of a girl named Sarah.
Hypersleep was completed under a budget of roughly £500, using funding from the 2012 Olympics, and was shot as a 360-degree film. It was screened on 30th September, 2012, although has not yet seen an online release. A production clip from the film was released in September 2013.
